Today, ERGOSTYLE® products benefit more and more traditional industrial sectors, machines and equipment over several decades of substantial aesthetic and design renewal.
Spoked handwheels

What advantages do spoked steering wheels provide in industrial systems?

Spoked steering wheels are often chosen where maximum control precision and good grip are required. The open spoke design allows the operator to easily grip the steering wheel from either side, even when wearing gloves or working in confined spaces. This shape provides more control and allows for gentle dosing of movement, which is important in machine tools, positioning equipment or other industrial systems.

How do spoked steering wheels improve steering accuracy and safety?

The spokes provide firm support, and the structure of the steering wheel allows the operator to feel the resistance of the mechanism better. This is especially useful for slow, precisely controlled movements. In addition, the open design reduces the risk of slipping, which can occur due to oil, dust or vibration. Steering wheels with spokes also allow for quick and safe turning under heavy loads, as the spokes distribute the force more evenly.

When to use spoked steering wheels instead of regular steering wheels?

This solution is most suitable when the equipment is used frequently and intensively and the operator needs constant control. If the work requires higher torque, spoked steering wheels become superior to solid models. They are also recommended in environments where fast turning is required or where the operator needs better grip due to hand position or the nature of the work.

What types of spokes should be chosen depending on the working conditions and load?

For lighter tasks, standard plastic or technopolymer spokes are sufficient. For heavier loads, metal spokes are used to increase the strength and durability of the structure. In environments where dust, oil or moisture are prevalent, it is worth choosing spokes with a textured or non-slip surface that maintain good grip in all conditions.
